Mobile Vending in the City of Bozeman

The City of Bozeman has created Mobile Vending procedures in response to the adoption of Ordinance 1950.

  • The Mobile Vending Business license serves as the "city wide" business license for all mobile vendors and is valid one year from submission to the City's Planning Division.
  • The Downtown Mobile Vending License - Downtown Business Improvements District Endorsement, is an additional license that allows you to do business within the Improvements District boundary's. This license can only accompany the Mobile Vending Business License. Please note, there are specific time restrictions within this district.

How to Apply

  • Complete the electronic application via the ProjectDox portal.
    • $250 fee for standard operation
    • Additional $250 fee if operation in Downtown Core is requested

    • Generator Specs

      • Service Date

  • Documents for Upload after application submission:
    • Copy of Application (Notification Letter received via email after submission.)
    • Copy of Gallatin County Health Dept License for Food Vending
    • Picture of Mobile Vending Unit
    • Commercial General Liability Insurance – See Example
    • Copy of Owner or Local Manager’s Driver’s License
    • Copy of Downtown Encroachment Permit from Engineering Division (for downtown sidewalk carts only.)
