The Strategic Services Department was formed in 2018 to align City services with the Strategic Plan. Three Divisions make up the Department, including five major functions. Performance Measures, Asset Management, Geographic Information Systems, Sustainability, and Facilities work together to support a broad range of community goals. The Strategic Services Department provides a cost effective way to deliver and communicate a high level of service while minimizing risk and life-cycle costs throughout the organization. Results following a triple-bottom-line approach of economic prosperity, environmental integrity, and social equity include:

  • A more proactive culture of decision making, including the importance of preventive maintenance
  • Improved confidence in municipal management of growth and infrastructure development
  • Enhanced outreach and engagement efforts
  • Citizen appreciation for the value of services provided throughout the community
  • A more resilient City to handle the impacts of climate change and future shocks
