The Strategic Services Department was formed in 2018 to align City services with the Strategic Plan. Three Divisions make up the Department, including five major functions. Performance Measures, Asset Management, Geographic Information Systems, Sustainability, and Facilities work together to support a broad range of community goals. The Strategic Services Department provides a cost effective way to deliver and communicate a high level of service while minimizing risk and life-cycle costs throughout the organization. Results following a triple-bottom-line approach of economic prosperity, environmental integrity, and social equity include:

Performance Measures are being developed across the organization to better understand the connection between current workload and community expectations. Modern tools are being used to collect data, communicate progress, increase transparency and empower citizen engagement. Elevating the role of accurate metrics allows the city to make the most of limited resources while responding to challenges related to growth.

What is the purpose of GIS & Asset Management?

A Geographic Information System (GIS) provides the foundation for data collection, analysis and visualization for most aspects of city government. Asset Management leverages this data to minimize risk and life-cycle costs to effectively deliver a high level of service throughout the community. Together, GIS and Asset Management rely on a cross-functional team approach to help departments work toward common goals while monitoring performance and engaging with the public to demonstrate the value of the services that we provide.
