E. Special Presentations
E.1 The Historic Preservation Advisory Board (HPAB) has identified as Heritage Tree Preservation Program as part of their work plan. The goal of HPAB with the heritage tree program is to expand upon the definition of historic preservation beyond just the built environment which could include trees and cultural landscapes. A heritage tree is a tree that has historical, cultural, biological, or ecological significance because of its age, size, or condition. There have been conservations with the Forestry Division as well as Branch Out Bozeman on what a heritage tree program could look like and how it could be implemented. Sarah Rosenberg, Historic Preservation Officer with the City of Bozeman will give the Urban Parks and Forestry Board an overview of the work done, goals of the board, and possible next steps.(Rosenberg)
