The City of Bozeman operates an oil and antifreeze disposal program located in the Vehicle Maintenance Shop at:

Drop off hours are 8am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

In an effort to prevent the improper disposal of used oil and antifreeze the City of Bozeman collects used oil and antifreeze at no cost for city and Gallatin County residents. It is illegal to pour motor oil on the ground, in alleys and down storm or sanitary sewers. The City of Bozeman encourages citizens to use this service in order to keep Bozeman and Montana a healthy and clean place for generations to come.

Rules of Use

• Maximum container size – 5 gallon
• Antifreeze and lubricating oil only
• Oil and antifreeze must not be mixed with other chemicals
• No cooking oil
• No leaking containers
• All participants must check in with the Vehicle Maintenance shop using the red door on the north side of the building.
