Overview
Mission
The mission of the Bozeman Veteran Eligible Treatment Services (V.E.T.S.) Court is to reduce crime, enhance public safety, save taxpayer costs, and enrich lives by facilitating sobriety, treating mental health conditions, improving social relationships, and promoting lifelong stability for veteran offenders in our community.
Eligibility

Served or be actively serving in the United States military

Treatment needs the court can satisfy
-
Approved by the defense attorney, prosecutor, and judge
-
Charge(s) offers the court sufficient jurisdiction
-
Resides within or near Gallatin County or able to move upon acceptance
-
At least 18 years old

Referral Process
1. Referral is made via the options listed above
2. The BRIDGERS Court Coordinator:
- Schedules intake appointment and gathers initial information
- Contacts defense counsel
- Schedules chemical dependency evaluation (CDE)
- Schedules applicant’s court observation
3. BRIDGERS Court team reviews CDE and screening metrics and decides eligibility .
4. Applicant and defense counsel notified of eligibility decision
5. Applicant signs program contract with BRIDGERS Court defense counsel
6. BRIDGERS Court standardized plea agreement proposed to sentencing judge and prosecutor
7. Individual makes first BRIDGERS Court appearance
